Clarissa Pharr is a New York-based freelance journalist and editor. She is pursuing a Master of Science degree at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and is an editor and web producer at Al-Monitor, a Middle East news outlet.
Clarissa's interest in multi-media storytelling has brought her to Egypt, Turkey, China, India and the UK, where she has produced original content for publications including AlertNet Climate of The Thomson Reuters Foundation, Daily News Egypt, The Majalla Magazine, amNew York and ArteEast.
Recent projects include a photo essay and radio segment on a political artist and his transition from Cairo to New York, as well as articles on youth unemployment in East Harlem and a feature story on the effects of New York City’s rezoning campaign on local communities.
